TED Talk With John Gerzema Resonates With Sell The Truth

There has been an enormous amount thought this year on how the financial crisis has changed things. Predictably, it is often gloomy.

But there’s definitely another school of thought out there, which sees the crisis as a huge opportunity. It focuses on the other side of this seismic shift: its ability to unearth a new kind of empowerment, consciousness, and rationality in today’s consumer.

This TED Talk with John Gerzema is a brilliant example. He focuses on a number of changes that have been catalyzed by the economic meltdown, ultimately marking a shift from “Mindless” to “Mindful” consumption.

To us, this feels sane. It is also very parallel to what we’ve been thinking (see Sell The Truth here if you haven’t already). But it has enriched our thinking much further.

We love this kind of thing.
